Yarn, yarn and more yarn!!!

I was previously storing my stash of yarn in big plastic buckets. Tucked away nice and snug in waterproof tubs, stacked nicely in our storage area. No problem, right??? Yes, problem. . . they are tucked away and I don't even remember what yarn I have. So I decided to reorganize my yarn so that I could actually see what I have to work with. This is what I have.
Cotton yarn. Love it for dishcloths!!!!
Fun Fur and other soft yarn for scarves!!!
More yarn that is great for scarves!!!
 Simply soft!!! I love Simply Soft. It is so . . . well. . . soft. : )
And we can't forget baby yarn. I do actually enjoy making baby blankets, so I have to have a stash of baby yarn on hand for that!!!

It might look a little messy, but I can definitely see what I have. I am very happy. I was teasing my husband, telling him I only had a little bit of yarn. He told me that our closet now looks like a yarn store. : )

Previously Finished Projects

I just wanted to post pictures of a few of the projects I have completed over the last couple years. This is not by far a complete list. Just a few of the ones I have not previously posted.

Finished Projects

I really did finish these projects within the deadline I set for myself. I just didn't make a post to tell you all about it until now. I am very pleased with the way the blanket and matching baby doll blanket turned out and A was thrilled to finally have her blanket finished.

I have mixed feelings about my very first Rag Rug. I like the colors fine, I think that they look okay together. I enjoyed working on this rug and will probably do more in the future. The thing I don't like about it is where one round ended and the next started. I don't like how you can see where the changes were. I wish it were less noticeable. If anyone has any suggestions or a set pattern they would like to share I would appreciate it.

Round Rag Rug and other WIP'S

I was looking at some other crafty blogs and found The Royal Sisters blog.
This picture of this beautiful rag rug caught my eye so I wanted to give it a try.

Photo from The Royal Sisters Blog
I first needed to find some old sheets. I really wish I had decided to do this project before I cleaned out my linen closet. But I was able to find a few sheets and an old curtain. So this is how mine started. . .
and a few rounds later, this is what I have so far.

I will post more pictures when I actually finish it. I am hoping that I will get it done within the next week.
Another project that I have been working on (or not working on, as it seems) is A's blanket.

I have been busy with moving and making dishcloths and other things that this blanket is not getting the attention that it deserves. I am making a goal of having it done in the next two weeks. I think A has waited far too long for her blanket and it will come in very handy with the weather getting so much cooler.

WIP Wednesday

This week I am working on more Mug Rugs (coasters) for my Etsy store. I am also still working on my daughter's blanket. I am finding it difficult to find time to crochet.

New Project

I have been seeing these Knifty Knitter Looms in the stores for a while now and have debated with myself whether or not to get them. Now that I have them I am not sure of their full potential. I know that hats are the most common thing to make with the round ones. My son (yes, I said son) asked me to make him a hat. He even picked out the yarn in the above photo for me to make it. So I need some help, if you have a favorite hat pattern using the looms, could you share your patterns with me. Also, if you have patterns for other things made with these looms please share those as well. Thanks!!!

My daughter is enjoying her blanket. She even found someone to enjoy the doll blanket.

Work In Progress Wednesday

Now that I have finally finished K's blanket it is time to start A's. She had picked out the colors a while back. She loves blue, so blue and cream were her colors of choice. I also found a pattern on Bev's blog One Yarn After Another that I really liked. Mine might not be exactly like her's, but it was the inspiration for mine.

Finished Projects-Finally

Well, let me tell you. . . I need to be re-energized. I have not crocheted much at all for a while. My poor daughter has been waiting a very long time for her blanket to be finished. To my credit we did move from North Carolina to South Dakota the beginning of March. So I have had other things to do. Here are pictures of the finished product.
This is the blanket. It is not as big as I would have liked it, but my daughter likes it. So it's all good.
I also made her a doll blanket to match her blanket. She really likes it.
Here they are together.

Work In Progress Wednesday

: )
Still working on my daughters blanket. It is coming along nicely. I am pretty happy with the way it is turning out.
Working on more Mug Rugs for my Etsy store. I will list them on Etsy once I get several sets done.

Cinnamon is very curious about the projects that I work on. She loves to watch the yarn as I crochet. Usually she can control herself from pouncing on it. Here she is checking the quality of my Mug Rugs. She approved.

Work In Progress Wednesday

Click the WIP box above to see what other crafty people are working on.

Well, my daughter did not wait long before wanting me to start her blanket. These are the colors she picked out. It is actually working up pretty quick and is turning out better than I thought it would.
This is a special surprise for my daughter. I am also making her a baby doll blanket to match her blanket. She will be so surprised when she finds out. I have to work on it when she is in bed at night so she won't know. Hope she doesn't read my blog.
I am participating in a gifting game on Facebook called Pay It Forward 2011. This is what I posted as my status: "Pay it Forward 2011: I promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment here. They must in turn post this and send something they make to the first 5 people who comment on their status. ***The rules are that it must be handmade by you and it must be sent to your 5 people sometime in 2011."
The blue dishcloths above are for the first person who responded to my status. I think that this is a great idea and will be fun to surprise my friends with a gift this year. I may try it on this blog in the future, you will have to stay tuned to see when. ; )
The red and white dishcloths and the "Mug Rugs" (or coasters) below are for my Etsy store. I need to get some new things listed.

Finished Projects

I FINALLY finished the second blanket. The one on the right (with squares) was a gift for my oldest son. The one on the left (strips) was a gift for my younger son. Now I have to prepare to make blankets for my daughters. I am hoping for a small break before starting that project. I will see how long my daughter will be patient. Probably not long. ; )

Work In Progress Wednesday-Sort of

I really have not had much time this week to crochet. I am still working on the knitted scarf I posted a couple of weeks ago. Or I should say that it is still in my craft bag unfinished, not much working on it going on. I also have done very little on the red, white and blue blanket. Needless to say it has been a slow craft week.
I was able to finish the blanket I posted last week, so I will just show you the pics of the finished product. I love how it turned out. I haven't anyone to gift it to just yet, but I am sure I will very much enjoy gifting it when the time comes.
This close up should have been rotated.
